The smallest acoustic transmitter in the world ... another ATS first.
The ATS ELAT (Eel Lamprey Acoustic Tag) was developed to study juvenile lamprey and has a host of potential applications with tagging smaller fish. At a weight of 80 mg, the tag enables researchers to tag and study smaller fish safely, without burdening the fish with a larger tag. The tag is compatible with JSATS receiving equipment allowing over 65,000 unique codes on the 416 kHz frequency. The short sub-millisecond transmission allows for excellent performance in high-noise environments.
Tag codes and pulse rates are programmed by ATS during factory setup and may be modified later by the user using the ATS Light Box.
